Seesalt’s pathway of Gender Justice in Asia-pacific Through Community Action

Director: Wanyue Hong, Shanxi University/University of California Irvine

ALCHEMILLIA

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

SEESALT Alchemillia is a specialized initiative within SEESALT-EMBER SEMINARS. Alchemillia focuses on addressing gender issues and sexually related gender violence through a post-colonial lens, creating culturally responsive interventions that center the voices and experiences of marginalized communities.

The program takes its name from Alchemilla, a healing plant historically associated with women's wellness and transformation—symbolizing our commitment to healing, resilience, and the alchemy of social change.

OUR MISSION

To challenge and transform systems of gender-based violence and inequality by developing community-led seminars that acknowledge historical power dynamics, honor local knowledge, and build sustainable pathways toward gender justice.
